ASCAP 75 Years of MusicCurrently, Dan is serving his third term on the American Society of Composer Authors and Publishers’ (ASCAP) Board of Directors. He recently ended his service as president of the Society of Composers & Lyricists after serving five terms over ten years, the longest tenure of any president of the organization.

Passionate about recognizing the heritage of his chosen field, Dan was responsible for instigating the Society of Composers & Lyricists Ambassador program, which has honored numerous legends in the music profession over the past ten years. He has served for nine years on the ASCAP Foundation Board, four years on the ASCAP Nominating Committee, ten years on the Television Academy’s Music Peer Committee and sits on the Advisory Board of the Hollywood Symphony and the Film Music Society. He has lectured at NYU, Columbia, USC, the California Copyright Conference and European Film Music Days in Paris.
